PROJECT GOAL:
Produce ultra high resolution images of books to be used in the making of large scale props for a live conference.
Produce images of book inscriptions to be used in live conference attendee brochures.
Process:
The Creative Lead’s vision was to build large scale 3D books that would be used as props/decor for a live conference that showcased a book club theme. He also needed images of the inscriptions within the books that attendees had written, which would be used in the brochure given to attendees at the event.
Ali was brought onto the project to produce the photographic images that would be printed and used as a wrap cover around a 10 feet tall frame in the shape of a book. Ali photographed the books in studio on a white backdrop to ensure consistency across all images. Each book had its cover, spine, and back photographed so that the 3D models could be seen from all angles. A 50-megapixel camera was used in order to achieve a high quality print at such a large scale. Special care was also taken to ensure color accuracy and eliminate any distortion. Of these, Ali delivered 100 final images for the cover/spine/back and book groups.
For the brochure images, consistency was the main focus. Ali photographed the book covers, along with the inscriptions in studio. Each images was meticulously retouched to ensure color accuracy, readability, and professionalism. Of these, Ali delivered nearly 300 final images for the brochure.
